Help me in the fight against colorectal cancer!
This year I am making my marathon miles count by joining TEAM COLON CANCER CHALLENGE (CCF) and will be running my FIRST half marathon on March 14, 2015. I joined Team CCCF because I want to make an impact in the fight against colorectal cancer.
In July 2013, my dad lost a very short battle with this horrible disease. I am taking on this challenge in rememberance of my dad and for all others whose life was cut tragically short as a result of this cancer. I could never have imagined myself running a half marathon (or even a few miles)and although I miss him every day, I know my dad is running with me; pushing me to go beyond where I thought I could ever go and to finish what I set out to do. My intent is to get the message out...if diagnosed early, this cancer is extremely treatable and beatable.
When you support me with a donation, you are joining our global movement to end colorectal cancer forever!
The Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation (CCCF) has been working in NYC since 2003, funding screening progams for the uninsured, and providing much needed funds to young investigators who are committed to finding a cure for colorectal cancer. Funds go directly to these programs and allow CCCF to spread the message that colorectal cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable with early screening.
More than an estimated 51,000 Americans died from colorectal cancer this past year and yet colorectal cancer is largely Preventable, Treatable and Beatable with early screening.
