October 12, 2012 changed my life forever. On this date I was diagnosed with stage IV Colon Cancer and I was given a 6% chance of living more than 5 years. At that moment I looked at my wonderful husband and three small children and I made the decision that I was going to fight the fight; and I did. Now I live and love life. It is almost 4 years ago that I heard those awful words.... YOU HAVE CANCER. A lot has happened since then. I have seen many many doctors (and continue to see them), endured intense chemotherapy, and survived a major surgery. I have also had the joys of watching my 3 small children grow and we were blessesd two years ago with a forth baby, Hope Eleni. You never know what's going to happen in life. Enjoy it while you can! Colon cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable. This year, I registered for the Annual Colon Cancer Challenge® because I want to make an impact in the fight against colorectal cancer. When you support me with a donation, you are joining our global movement to end colorectal cancer forever!
The Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation (CCCF) has been working in NYC since 2003, funding screening progams for the uninsured, and providing much needed funds to young investigators who are committed to finding a cure for colorectal cancer. Funds from the Challenge will go directly to these programs and allow CCCF to spread the message that colorectal cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable with early screening.
You can make a donation online by clicking on the Donate button above my fundraising thermometer. Your support helps us get another step closer to a world without colon cancer. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your support and please share our story with your friends and family!
